Shayna Rabess, DNP, FNP  is a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner, with 15 years of expertise in cardiac care across the inpatient and outpatient settings. She is a double alumni from the University of Florida, most recently earning her Doctorates Degree in Nursing, graduating at the top of her class, in 2021. Shayna excels in providing comprehensive cardiovascular care, patient education, and collaborative treatment planning. Currently, Shayna provides care to cardiology and electrophysiology patients in the acute setting at UF Health Spanish Plaines and UF Health Leesburg Hospital. She also provides pre-and post-procedure care and education for patients undergoing pacemaker or ICD implants, Ablations, Watchman implant, and other EP procedures. As well as providing comprehensive care to ICU and Cardiovascular ICU patients admitted with acute myocardial infarctions, post open heart patients, end stage heart failure, and more. With a passion for innovation and evidence-based practice, Shayna strives to enhance patient outcomes by contributing to the future of cardiology through research and clinical excellence. She has several years of hands on experience as a clinical research coordinator in the dynamic field of cardiovascular medical devices. She was also a finalist in the 2020 Florida Blue Health Innovation Challenge for her DNP graduate project: “Implementation of a Transitional Care Model in the Heart Failure Population”, where her and her team focused on reducing heart failure hospital readmission rates with an NP-Led Specialty Transitional Care program. Shayna is a true Floridian, and currently lives in Tavares with her husband and children. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.
